The month of June was nothing short or exciting as we celebrated the official grand opening of The Fillmore KC, our new event venue in Lenexa!
After a whirlwind of just 10 days of construction, we spent a weekend full of joy, community spirit, and hopeful beginnings as we officially opened our doors to friends, family, and church members.
During the construction process, we took a dream on paper and turned it into a reality! From beautiful new flooring to stunning CUSTOM chandeliers, the team put in late nights and early mornings to make this miracle come true. We are so grateful for the Unity Church of Overland Park’s members who brought in homemade cookies and lunches to help fuel the hard work.
Venue Ribbon Cutting Full of Community and Celebration
The ribbon cutting marked an exciting milestone for The Fillmore KC and the Lenexa community. Surrounded by familiar faces and supporters, the ribbon cutting symbolized more than just the opening of a new space—it celebrated the promise of a gathering place for memories, milestones, and moments that matter.
Our guests enjoyed a warm atmosphere, and many shared their enthusiasm for what this venue will bring to the area: a versatile, welcoming space for weddings, corporate events, community gatherings, and so much more.
We had an amazing band that set the tone of the evening, as guests sang along to music that just made the heart happy.
Volunteers from the Unity Church of Overland Park helped provide tours to guests and shared that the venue offers TWO separate spaces for celebrations.
The first, is the Studio where you can host ceremonies, small dinners or corporate meetings. This space holds around 100 people and has a sound system included.
The main ballroom is the second space that guests toured. This is the main reception hall that can hold over 200 guests seated or upwards of 250 cocktail style. This space has AV equipment, sound system and a catering kitchen attached. It also has a stage that is perfect for a head table or DJ.

When it was time to unravel the gold ribbon, The Unity Church of Overland Park’s leadership team gave words of encouragement and then broke out the famous large scissors to make the cut! Cheers and laughter filled the room as we are officially open for events!
